Couple questions buying a Z
I am looking to get a '91 300zx 2+2. The one I'm looking at has 118,000 miles on it, and is asking 7700. Is this too much? It is in almost perfect condition. Also what are some mods I can do to get the most horspower and how expensive is it? I don't plan on racing just want MORE POWER!

7,700 is a bit steep considering it's a 91 w/a lot of miles...but if it's in perfect condition...then I'd say try to make him drop it down to around 7-7.3k
Mods...well you have several mods you can get... Intake Headers Exhaust ECU Cams Clutch Flywheel Underdrive Pulley then... Port/Polish Heads Stronger Pistons and Rods to raise compression and not be neglected... Suspension work...either spring shock combo or coilovers Sway bars Strut bars Polyurethane bushings Oops...I gave you too much...but you get the idea... Mods for Z's are expensive just b/c the car was expensive and there werent that many produced against lets say a Civic...so it has it's good and bad sides to being a lower production car as compared to a Civic. It has beats a Civic in every category for that matter minus the gas mileage, resale value, and perhaps aftermarket support...the TT has more aftermarket support than the NA does...so...there ya go. Try these sites... www.stillen.com www.twinturbo.net (good for NA cars too) www.sgpracing.com |

I recently bought a 300ZX and after a week I already need new rear tires.

Well they were already worn probably...there's no way in a week could you have taken down brand spanking new tires unless you went to a burnout contest or ran a 24 hr endurance race...which in that case other things of yours should be gone as well...
Migh I suggest the Nitto NT555's...I like em alot and good price, good treadwear and good stick! |

Well the tires were about 80% gone when I bought the car.I did a huge burnout at my friends shop and when the tires blew just pushed the car into the car and got 4 new Bridgestone Potenza S-02 tires.
