Metal chassis on race car doesn't really border me. But the price vs details offered will.

Spot on. The good old full detail kits were much better value for money..

Neat! Probably won't make it in my stash, but neat nonetheless.

So, where's my RA106?

Neat.

+3 decal variations coming down the pipe... (edit: my own speculation)

#1 TOYOTA TEAM CERUMO

#6 Mobil 1 TOYOTA Team LeMans

#35 BANDAI DIREZZA SC430

Tamiya isn't going to issue decals that say Bandai ... never.

It's in their official curse words dictionary, together with Hasegawa, Fujimi and Aoshima

Re: Tamiya new release Lexus/Toyota SC430?

I agree. The only chance of us seeing the Bandai one is a third-party decal set.
I don't think the SC430 is a good seller, but I guess it's better than no kit at all.

Re: Tamiya new release Lexus/Toyota SC430?

Oh yeah! LOL! Maybe they'll blank it out like tobacco decals.

I'm surprised never got around to do a Supra update for Super GT.

I'm sure it doesn't hurt that there's only 3 cars in the whole top class.

BTW, the Open Interface SC430 clinched the Super GT championship this past weekend, which is why we're seeing it. Tamiya loves winners. So, everyone who still wants such-n-such race car kit... Better hope they win!
