1/24 Scale Figures

Does anyone have a good source for seated drivers/figures? I do not mind converting them if need be considering I have done tons of frankenstein work on military figures. I was really hoping to find something in the lines of 1/24 scale (even nude figures to use as a base). I would really like whole body (not just torso, arms, and head).

I have thought about scuplting some, but the time required would be pretty high considering the level of perfection I have a tendancy to exhibit in such areas. Perhaps I should cast some if I make modifications...

I know some kits come with figures, but I really do not want "busty" females, although a file would take care of the barbie look. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

BTW, I wanted to say this is probably one of the best forums I have seen relating to modeling. Nice people who share a common interest in the same autos as I.

Ah, I just realized that Tamiya is offering drivers with some of the newer rally kits. Sorry for not looking at more detail. Should have searched hlj first. Time to cut and cast...

Yeah, I was thinking about that when I read your first post, and I was wondering about whether I will want to put the figures in any of the Tamiya rally car kits I have......when I had decided I was going to let you know if it was in your favor
Oh well....

There are quite a few 1/24 figures out there.

The most well known are perhaps the Fujimi drivers set and mechanics set which are both very good.

There are plenty of garage companies out there making them, Fred Caddy is one and i think Renaissance make a few figures of WRC drivers - i believe they have just released a new lot including Panizzi brothers and Loeb plus more.

There is also a company called Preiser who make figures in all scales mainly used for model railways. G scale is equivalent to 1/24 and they have loads of different figures in this scale albeit expensive. They also make Adam and Eve sets i.e. nude male/female packs for sculpters etc. http://www.google.co.uk/search?num=1...adam+eve&meta=

You can also look out for dollhouse figures in "Half-inch" scale, which = 1/24th. "G" scale usually = 1/24, but can actually be anywhere between 1/22.x and 1/25, depending on the manufacturer... :/

If you're talking about Fred Cady all he makes are decals (great decals) but no figures !

Check Oak Ridge Hobbies for figures of all types and the already mentioned Preiser figures.

Also, since I have my RX-7's driver figure in hand, I was dreaming of casting a copy in rubber with a poseable wire frame... a la Gumby. :frog:

I carry 2 resin driver figures

They cost $5, and are in 2 different styles. One is an open faced, old NASCAR style, and the other is a full faced helmet driver. Check out my site at http://groups.msn.com/rnrresins . I know the link says RNR Resins, I am in the middle of a change over.
