sweet gs-r vs. 331 juiced fox-body

had to be one of the best races I have ever seen. A buddy of mine with a stock blocked, turboed gs-r was looking to race some people. He scores a race with a mustang that claims to be the fastest street car in town, which he is not. But anyways, him and the mustang line up. Keep in mind this mustang has a built up 347 and nitrous, not sure if it has a blower or not too. the mustang is either on slicks or street legal drag tires, and runs 11.3, the gs-r on 16" nitto drags. they launch, mustang get about a car, 2nd gear, teg is keeping up, third the mustang is pulling a little, and that's all i could see. the story is the mustang only had about 3 cars, from a dead stop. I do gotta say, not bad for an integra on stock internals. if you are interested in the tuner that owns the car, his website is http://www.solid-technology.com/
It is a sweet ass car, and if you are in the southwest and looking for a turbo setup, he's the guy. His company also has a 4 door dx running over 200hp to the wheels on the stock block.

OK, here is the in car report from him, since it's kinda hard to tell from the side of the road:
"Yes its true the 331 stang on 150 shot and et streets beat the stock motored honda on 12 psi and a 40 shot, by about 3-5 cars or depending on which race you watch.

The race is on video, hopefully somebody will post it.

Friedrice (dave) msutang goes 1 for 1 with the gs-r off the bottle. first race put about a car on him, second race he pulled about half a car on the integra.

Other blown cobras (2 or 3) seemed to creeep on the gs-r from a 30 roll or so on the bottle.

blown mustnags seemed to creep on the gs-r tonight.

The verdict- the gs-r was a little faster or a little slower than the blown cobra crowd.

big trouble when i go into the motor and push some bigger boost numbers.

fun stuff"

i don't think it is that pointless, I think it is sweet. A stock engined gs-r on street tires, is right on the ass of a 331 stroker mustang on a 150 shot and slicks. that is freakin sweet.

i wouldnt...

thats nice that the Integra has stock internals, im not sure of the longevity of the engine with stock interenals and a Turbo with moderate boost ... he may run into problems with in a short time, especially if he goes around and races more and keeps pushing it.

ahh anywho, that sucks it grenaded itself. He should of spent the extra dough to get the upgraded parts.... cause it'll cost him alot more now than it would then. I mean who knows what he screwed up.

he has a built up engine ready, just wanted to see how much this one would take, and it did quite well considering it's been about 6 months I believe. not too bad that a gs-r can make double it's whp on stock internals. hell, if it wasn't for the nitrous, it still might be in 1 piece

well, if he's got a built up motor waiting then what the hell huh? Like you said might as well see how long it takes to blow it.

this was actually a 331, i knew it was a stroker, but had it confused. I'm pretty sure you can get a 347 from a 302 with the right bore/stroke

One thing I really do love about Michigan - no emissions tests. Couldn't get the cats off the VR4s fast enough
