JDM Motor codes
How come all japan motor codes are in english letters?

Because they lost WWII.
The main reason would have to be the take over and control of Japanese industry in the years following WWII. And Im sure differnces in language are a main factor. The nature of the symbols used in the english language makes them much more suited to being used in ordered codes. For example the Japanese chrachters can not be broken down into individual units on thier own in the same way that english letters can be. (all of which are descended from a variety of European languages)
