almost all Mazdas are FWD, except the RX7. Too much fabrication to make a FWD to an AWD

FYI the early Mazda Protege (90-92) had an optional 4wd setup with the DOHC 1.8. I have often dreamed of putting a 250HP engine in this and whoopin' up on the Hondas and Subarus.

4WD protege

I got a friend that found a 1992 protege 4WD.
He finished the engine swap a week ago. It's now running a japanese GTR Turbo engine. We took a ride last night and I had the chance to race it against a Golf VR6 on a red light. I would have liked to see the guy's face when he realized he wouldn't be even close of winning this one against a small protege. That's a great feeling.

Check out www.corkport.com for j-spec 1st gen protege engines. Dont have to worry about AWD, they will work with a FWD
