Question Brake squeal and question about MCS14 headlights

1.
When i apply my breaks i have a high pitched squeal in the front set, and when i'm just driving ( no brakes applied) i get this wierd kinda metal on metal rubbing noise coming from the rear set. any ideas of what it could be?

2.
what is the difference between USDM MCS14 headlights (97-98) and JDM MCs14 headlights???
i have a 95 240sx and i wanna put an ings body kit on it, but i'm gonna need to convert the front end to MCS14 spec. just wanted to know if there was a difference between the two headlights.

the head lights are dentical to the j spec. and for your brakes. when you brake. does the steering wheel shake? if soo then your rotors are warped and you need to either replace them or take them to a shop and have then cut.

Hmm...well I know that if you have carbon metallic brake pads on your brakes...they will squeal b/c it's almost metal on metal...hence the metallic part...but they do help you stopping so it might be that but I doubt unless you know that the pads on there are not as mentioned above.

If they squeal all the time it's time for new pads...cant help you much more...not full mechanic.

If you DO need new rotors and pads, check out Auto Zone. I replaced both on my 91 240SX about a month ago and got 2 pads and 2 rotors for around 50 bucks. It's not very hard to do yourself and it'll save you about 200 bucks. Just a tip.

Your front brakes (if you have a 240SX SE) are the same as your rear's really...10 inch rotors w/crappy calipers.

Check my friend's site for brake upgrades under the link Performance

http://plaza.ufl.edu/briand/index2.htm

He did a Q45 swap and has personally done a 300ZX TT brake swap onto S14 240SX's.

I am having squealing problems with my brakes too.

How did you get 240sx rotors at autozone for 50 bucks? and what do you mean "get your rotors cut"?

rotors cut mean they just shave off some of the rotor so that it is a flat smooth surface b/c ur dead breaks r prob grindin' up the surface of the rotor...
