single carb D15B ---> DOHC ZC

Hey all, I've got a single carb D15B in my '89 JDM civic. I'm getting a complete '88 JDM CRX Si for NZ$200. It has accident damage etc so I'm using it for parts.

Anyways, I'm going to put the ZC in my civic. what I want to know is what do i exactly need for the swap? Remember I have everything from the CRX at my disposal.

Because im going from carburetted to fuel injected i know the carbureted versions only have a non pressurised fuel system, so I would have to make it pressurised, and probabaly add a couple of fuel lines as well. I know i also need the ECU (duh! ), wiring loom and the injector resistor box. Anything else?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

And heres a pic of my car just for the hell of it hehe:

EDM rules. my favorite version out of all civics made.

okay, i think i understand. you have what would be equal to our dx. you want to upgrade to what would be equal to our si. your car isn't completely carbed. and it is dual port injection. you want to go multi-port.

you will also need the intake manifold and is suggested to get another stock wiring harness to convert. i have heard people messing their and then been without a car until another harness is found.

there was a how-to article in Sport Compact a couple months ago. I was adding all the info to the Civic site (since a lot of people inquire about this conversion). i'll go finish it and post a link in a couple of hrs.

bracer is my source for EDm info. if you haven't been there before, check out bracer's site

My car is JDM remember

But I get what you mean about the dual port to multi port. And that howto is very helpful too.

Keep in mind that I will have the complete CRX with ZC at my disposal, so parts aren't a problem.

And when I starting thinking about this it seemed very straight forward. But the more info I get about it, its starting to warp my fragile little mind hehe

It might pay to try and get some info from someone who has done a carb to injection swap, it might get quite complicated.

I dug up some tech diagrams I had, here are the ones for the JDM 1.5X Dual Carb CR-X, and for the Injected CR-X. As you can see there is quite a difference, and the crx ones will probably be shorter than for the Civic.

The carburetted 1.5X

The injected Si

Probably there only US people who can help would be the ones who have converted a Carburetted 1g CRX or 3g Civic to injection.

Or alternatively you could get the Carburettor, and an ECU from a JDM 1g teg with the Carbed DOHC ZC, but then you'l only have 120hp.

You need everything - dashboard forward (and the fuel pump etc).

Sit them next to each other and swap away

You'll need all the sensors etc, but it should all bolt across.

Now if I only had a pic of the twin-carb D15B engines - computer controlled setup - damn it's nice and works a treat. 100bhp from a 1500 that we got over here

I should have a pic somewhere , I've had my JDM twin-carb D15B CRX for about 3 years now, and still love it, its just right if you're after a good compromise, and of course being JDM they gave themselves a few extra hp to make it 105hp.
