Exclamation 89 dx tranny with dohc ZC? or d15b? or?

Whats sup all? i just bought a 89 dx, its nice and all but i have a little money left over, and i want to buy a new motor but i cant afford a motor and tranny, just a motor....i know that dx trannys have long gear ratios....soooo would a dohc zc be good with the dx tranny since its dohc and has torque? i know how to mpfi swap so its all good....but yeah? would it be fast at all? what about a d15b to dx tranny swap?....or are they both just really fucking slow with the dx tranny? thanx!

Woah dude calm down, don't you think that may have been server lag? Not posting and clicking the button a couple of times?

If I remember correctly the acceleration wont be as fast with the DX transmission, but you will save on fuel with the longer gears. Thought I should just post something other than how much of a little freaking prick TSC was being :P

I dont give a shit if it was server lag or not, there was a 15 minute span between the first post and the last, no server lag would account for that. All the gears in the dx tranny are the same as the rest of them except fifth gear. Your take off will be the same, and when your racing your never going to get to fifth gear anyway.
