I believe Airfix made a kit of it too and I am certain there are military versions available.

Airfix/Heller makes a 1/43 version, but the tires suck.

Re: Land Rover Kit???

Tamiya also makes an open top military Land Rover in 1/35 scale, although it make take some effort to demilitarize it.

It's exactly how they looked, mostly when used for desert service.

If Tamiya had decided to make this model would you still think they were retarded?

Tamiya isn't retarded, you just don't know your Landrover generations.

Re: Land Rover Kit???

OK, lets clear this up,
this is tamiya's land rover

This is a real army land rover

this is an army jeep

hmm, the tamiya looks more like the jeep!
What a surprise.

what i meant was the style was jeep-like,
not the car. they didn't cut the roofs

Oh, don't you say that, you don't know me,
my brother has had FOUR landrovers, and I
helped him restore every one. I THINK I
KNOW MY ROVERS!

Re: Land Rover Kit???

If you know your generations, you'd know the Tamiya kit is a 1950-1960's variant

The headlights got moved from the center grille area in the 70's. The whole front fascia became flat later.
