WIP: Scream Murcielago GTR FIA Series

Now that the Spider M1 Bike build is behind me, I decided to turn my attention to this build......

Body is now in primer... I will let it cure a few day or so and sand it with 600 and 800 grit respectively..... I have decided to go with the Scream Livery and it will be a FIA GT series car. Tires and wheels are done. I painted the wheels with Alclad Dark aluminum followed by a coat of TS-13 Clear. I also built up the rear wing and tacked it in place... this thing gives this car and incredibly aggressive look. I will try to get this stance on the finished build... What a wicked car!!!!

Hi Skylinefan,

looks very good so far.

Just let me give you a hint: There is a panel-line missing in front of the frontwheels to separate the fender from the spoiler.

The kit is the Fujimi Murcielago kit. Does not matter whether its the base kit or the Deluxe Version. The trankit is from Scale Production. I purchased mine from Strada Sports. Do a search in this forum for Murcielago and there is a review on the trans kit.

I am aware of the missing panel line. Since the break from the black and Orange is right on that panel line. I decided to omit it. Once the car is completely done, and painted. IT will look cleaner in my opinion.

Thanks!!

You did a nice job smoothly matching up that conversion kit to the body. Can't wait to see some glossy paint on it!

Sweet!!! Looking forward to more progress on this build. I'm seriously considering this transkit.

Re: WIP: Scream Murcielago GTR FIA Series

Thanks guys....

I got it in paint the last few nights.... IT STILL WILL BE CLEAR COATED WITH OMNI CLEAR. The orange is a custom mix. I had some PPG hugger orange basecoat. I toned it down with white. I will most likely clear the car tomorrow and then let it cure, polish and decal the rest... The car was carefully masked using photocopies of the stripes. Then the black was airbrushed. Finally I added the stripes off the sheet. Like I said it needs clear yet. I painted the spoiler Tamiya Semi gloss black. I bought SMS High Def decals for the spoiler and engine cover.

Very nice. One quick question, I notice that the paint has a VERY slight texture to it, do you polish this out before you clear or does the clear obfuscate the need?

The clearcoat will take care of this...

Thanks..

Re: WIP: Scream Murcielago GTR FIA Series

Very striking paintjob, you sure did a fine job with the trim separating the two colours.
