Question WRX vs. GTI How could this happen!?

Yesterday night, I was cruising down this well know strip of road where most of the street racing usually takes place. I go out every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to see if I can get any kills. But, today I was returning from the supermarket and I just happened to be on the on the road. I drove up to this red light where a Subaru WRX (blue) was waiting for someone to destroy. I didn't feel like racing tonight because I was tired and my garage had just flooded b/c someone left the sink on. I stoped about half a car behind his front bumper and I didn't even blast the stereo or stare at him or anything, but he turned around and started revving his engine and expecting me to do something. When I didn't, he rolled down his window and spit on my car! I was like holy shit! This kid is really pushin his luck! So, I rolled forward until we were even and I revved it up to about 3 grand, waiting for the light to go green. I knew that his car was faster than mine, but this kid was gonna get a run for his money! I dropped the clutch and I was keeping dead even with him until about 6 grand in first (just about 600 before I hit the limiter), but then he started to lag behind by very little.:finger: . When I was about to shift into third he was half a car behind and by the next stop light I was going about 125, before I started to brake, and he was maybe 2 and a half behind:smoker2: Can anyone explain to me why he didn't kill me!? I heard the turbo and everything while we were racing and i know that car was a WRX. I never saw him brake while we were racing and I know he kept going after i started to edge him out. Was is cuz I was power shifting??? I don't know!!! I'm not trying to diss the WRX or anything, but I'm just curious:smoker:

NONE yet, but I have big plans once I finish saving up the money.

Performance:
1/4 mile time= 14.86 with a perfect launch and an oil change before the race.
0-60 time= I'm estimating around 6.4

well, the only explainations I could come up with are 1) WRX's are pretty hard to drive fast, he could have been a crappy driver or 2) it was just a look-alike 2.5 RS that was kitted out to look like a WRX. Don't know for sure though.

Yeah, it could have been a bad driver b/c he didn't even try to do a power launch. Alos, if it was a 2.5RS look-a-like, that guy did some serious work b/c that car was fast! I thought i heard the turbo, but maybe it was smething else. I don't know:o

Yea I was really considering doing that, but there were too many other cars around. Someone probably would have gotten out and tried to stop me and the whole thing woulda been blown way outta proportion. For example, if this happened at some desolate in the middle of nowhere I would have kisked that kid's ass!!

Re: WRX vs. GTI How could this happen!?

I think if he spit on my car I would've gotten out pissed on his car and took a dump on it

what a bastard, thank god for winter beaters

I believe those WRX's hit 14.2 or something similiar in the 1/4 so if he messed up a little you'd have him.

DUDE. This thread's over a year-old. I'm sure everybody's grown-up a bit more by now (I hope).

PLEASE do not bump threads older than 3 mos. old, k?
