MR2 3SGTE vs. 280sx SR20
wat would win??
MR2 3SGTE(3rd Gen J-spec) vs. 240sx wit S13 SR20?? cuz im plan'in on get'n a MR2 non-turbo then engine swap. My friend Roman has a 89 240sx wit an S13 SR20 engine in is. He did beat an Civic Type-R at the race'z. So im just wondering if the MR2 wit and 3SGTE engine in it beat 240sx wit SR20?? im on AIM. my sn is ServingUpSumRice |

A real CTR? Wow...I dont think I have ever seen one of those stateside...but then again...if you live in Cali...you probably see those alot more than us FLA boyz...
Both the 3SGTE and the SR20DET are great engines...both can hold up to 400HP on stock internals...it just will depend on who's the better driver, better tires, better suspension for launches, better clutch...etc. They both weigh around the same...if it's a S13 coupe than he's just a tad bit lighter but if it's a hatchback...then it's pretty damn close...the MR2 is around 2800 lbs...while the coupe is around 2600 lbs...but the hatchback is a bit heavier. So take into accounts mods, other conditions, and the drivers. My choice...I'd put my money on the SR.

i don't think it really matter if it's a real CTR or not, a sr20 s13 can pretty much beat the ITR and CTR because it's RWD and turbocharge by the same company that created the beast in the east.
the truth is, a mr2 with the 3sgte will most definitely beat a sr20 s13 coupe if you're both going at it stock. cuz the 245 HP 3sgte can pretty much beat any car stock, i've seen it take out the rx-7, s14, and made a integra type r a joke beating it by 2 full second in the 1/4 mile. |

Oh I thought you were talking about the 200HP version that comes to the states...
NEVERMIND then...my answer was off...I give it to the MR2 if we are talking about that one...but that's not a fair comparison...I think you should compare it to the S15 SR that creates 250HP...in which case that's a good race to see...

yea u guyz gotta remember that the mr2 jspec has vvt-i it's like comparin a type r 2 a ka24de... u can't compare an advanced engine 2 a piece of shit... ... so if ur gonna compare a silva to an mr2 ... put them on equal levels... ... ... the s15 sr20det vs the mr2 3sgte... ... would b too close 2 call... ... thier practially da same... but does the 3sgte have a 6spd?

yea listen u retard... i won't lay off cauze a japanese car is bout' enginerring and not fucken a big piece of shit under the hood of the car... ... the only reason da 240sx ran 10's is cauze it wasn't streetable and no one really cares bout' dat shitt.... u fuck face... it's all bout' havin a car u can drive on da street an pull 10's... like the STREET 240sx that pulled 410 rwhp w/ an sr20det... not goin all da fucken way and i can bet u it can go 600hp w/ a little extra ... u retard... ... when u get a 2.0Lt engine that outputs 600hp easy (signals s15) don't say a fucken word... so u fucken lay off cauze da ka24de is a piece of shit ... and i have one.. ... it only has torque and it's only good if ur goin all motor so don't talk shit u retard...

KA24DE... ur retard... it took soo much hard work 4 da guy just 2 make 400hp... when on a redtop sr20det u can make 400hp w/ simple mods... ... injectors, bigger turbo, intercooler, good ecu... ... and if u added a nitrous express n-tercooler... fuck .. it would make easy time... it would kill da ka24de... ... ... ur such a retard it's soo funny

Next...by your name...I am assuming that you really dont have any car class...and that you probably picked up a Super Street and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread...oh how you are so wrong... To the subject at hand...Duy's car is STILL the fastest 240SX in the USA...I havent heard of anyone beating his time...be it another KA or SR...so we (J Spec and I) are correct in defending Duy's KA power! KA Power...yes I said that...you know why? Cuz it's a tough motor that can take a beating and keep on going...there are tons of reasons why the KA is better than the SR...but I guess you dont know them since you are a Super Street reader... 1)KA's can make 400-450HP on stock internals...that's very good for a motor that really didnt have turbo friendly compression ratios. 2)KA's are already in your car so you dont have to import one or swap one... 3)KA's are easier to maintain since hell they are US spec and mechanics know more about them than SR's...since they are not Japanese 4)You wont have to worry about looking for parts b/c it's all here in the states and you can run down to Nissan to pick up any tid bit part you need...you dont need to order from Japan or Australia or UK for SR parts By no means am I saying that the SR is not a good motor...it's a great motor...but what I am trying POUND THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL is that the KA is a fine motor...not a POS as you say... if and when i get my car(MR2) and i order a 3rd Gen 3SGTE engine will i get the 245hp stock that it comez wit in Aus and Jap?? Can any of u guyz tell me how much i can get the engine for. How much r the 93-98 rear lightz cuz i dont like the 91-92 rear lightz.
 Dont u have to do alot to the KA so i can withstand the 400hp. Keep fighin if u all want. Do u have a site for the fastest 240sx wit KA engine?? |
