Re: Help: Dick Johnson's Sierra decals

here is a link to a online shop in New Zealand that still has some.

http://www.modelcraftsandhobbies.co.nz/

then enter shop, left side click on cars/bikes/shops

on list (refine search) under Cars, Bikes and Trucks heading, click on car decals all scales

The the item you want is immediately after the first three cameras. Roodecals 1/24 Ford Sierra ANZ & Shell

Is that picture from the Goodwood Festival Of Speed last weekend? What a day out that was...

Re: Help: Dick Johnson's Sierra decals

Print wise the Roodecal sheet is a lot better.

Both Slotcarworld and Pattosplace seem to use a alps printer which does not give as clear a print. With Pattosplace (and probably slotcarworld) you just get the decal sheet without any instructions. Both seem to sell the same sheets.

Re: Help: Dick Johnson's Sierra decals

The Pattosplace deals are ok, not great but useable. The register is not always perfect and they are a little opaque, although they do offer 'better' decals where the white is printed seperately from the other colors on a different sheet. The Roodecals are better quality but the ones I have also look a touch opaque. DMC made a nice set for the OXO sponsored red car that ran in the 87 Bathurst and also a set of the ANZ decals (see my sig for a built up of this).

Re: Help: Dick Johnson's Sierra decals

Hi Roberto
I used the Pattosplace decals for mine, I found them quite good, reasonable registration but VERY thin and tear easily, I asked for a decal placemant diagram and he sent a JPEG drawing of a XR4i with really badly drawn pictures.
I also only ever remember Dicks car having 7 spoke gold rims, not the supplied kit ones.

Cool project though, good luck

sierrasaph, the team ran the first few years with the kit wheels before the team had the 7 spokes wheels made for them.
