this is probably a dumb question, but does it sound right? a friend of mine got new exhaust on his car, and long story short, one the guys at the shop left a rag in there, 'cept that made for black smoke, but you never know.

so whats the question? Anyways, i know this question has been asked in here before but what cat is recommended? Ive heard good and bad about the Random cat. What about CatCo or just OEM. What kind of horsepower gains can you expect from a "good" cat?

What does it smell like? I dont think its a problem w/ your exhaust. How hard did you rev the motor? Probably blew the head gasket.

smells like some oil. It usually gets worse the higher i rev the engine. When i just idle after i start the car its usually fine but when i rev it up to about 3 grand it almost sounds like somethin bubbles and it starts to smoke and keeps smoking even at idle.
