Does a BodyKit do away with the ugly stock bumper covers??

I hate the look and fit of these stock bumpers. Does anyone know if a bodykit would rid me of them??

Also, I notice that the blinker light assemblies for an 88-89 are different than the 90-91. What is the difference size?? Which one is bigger??

yes, you take your bumper "covers" off to fit on a kit.

the 88-89 has an amber lense....the 90-91 has clear lense with an (amber cover over the light behind the lense). if you have a 90-91 and want them clear...just unscrew the lense and take out the amber cover. plan to have amber bulbs. cops tend to pull ya over if they are white.

also, the 88-89 have screw holes in the turn signal....the 90-91 does not. just another difference i thought i'd point out

Thanks but.............

I will elaborate a lilo more on my actual problem with the current lights.

The previous owner replaced the bumper cover due to age or something. Anyway... they replaced it with an aftermarket unit that is not exactly alike. The turn signal assemblies in the bumper are far too small for the holes in the bumper. It took some rigging but they fit now.

I want to get clears but was wondering which ones to order. So, I was also thinking that maybe he replaced the cover with a 88-89 one or something hence the lenses not fitting. This would then lead me to order on for that bumper. Anyone know if the assemblies are the same size for those years???

Help greatly appreciated.

It sounds like u have a 90-91 bumper and 88-89 lenses....

The 88-89 lenses r smaller than 90-91 & r all orange compared 2 the 90-91 which r clear w/an orange insert.

Thanks Very Much for the help guys!!

Judging by the pics I have an 88 bumper but the light hole measures out @ 10by2. SO this bumper must be some kinda aftermarket chopped combo??

it is very possible. if it's 10 by 2 then you should be able to fit 90-91 lights in no problem. since i have an 89 Si i had to order those lights to fit the kit. they were really cheap, like $15-20 brand new

good luck!

Actually by the looks of it I really prefer the 90-91 cover over the older one. I will probably end up getting that. Anybody need a new bumper cover?? (3 months old)

I will pick up the lights off ebay dirt cheap!!
