Welcome to Automotive Forums jay

Are you aware that the truck will never pass emisions in most states / provinces with a carburator?

If you are then no prob.

Never atemt to work on the fuel system without having a fire extinguisher handy.

Plus always disconect the battery and re-conect it only when there's no chance of fire happening.

The easiest thing to do for these first few steps is lift the box off.

You'll want to switch the fuel pickup in the tank to 1 made for a carburator (85 or older I believe)

Install a low pressure electric fuel pump beside the tank. I imagine that you can use the existing fuel pump wires.

I would install a cheap in-line fuel filter in here as well.

Now remove the inlake manifold and replace it with a carburated unit. Hook up all the cables, the fuel line and what not. You'll probably have to block the return fuel line off.

Try the key, and it should fire up. (don't forget that you dis-conected the battery)

If it does and seems to work right bolt the box back on and double check all your work.

Personally I'd just stick to the fuel injected system, it'll give you both more power and a little better fuel economy.

Pretty much. Also, carb is not as accurate as efi, so you gas miledge would certainly go down, which in this day and age, unless you have lots of disposable income is not a good thing.
