800 Fooking Dollars?!?!?!

I went on a search today to get new Ball joints for My stealth, cause they're shot.
I walk in and ask at Autozone, cause while they don't know what the hell they are talking about, they are cheap. They say, they don't have them. I go to our local Mom and pop parts store, they're more expensive, but better at parts and such. they don't have them either. In Desperation, I went to the local dodge dealer.

Point the first- They won't sell just the ball joints, despite the fact they are GLORIFIED JOYSTICKS that screw out of the A-arm for easy replacement (it says so right in the big ol' repair book)

Point the second- They WILL sell me a replacement Lower A arm for the wonderful price of 400 dollars PLUS. that pisses me off, and I let the guy know. I ask why the Hell is it so expensive?
He's like, well, a stealth is a very rare car and replacement parts are expensive"
me: "Well look at me! I'm Fuckin one of a kind here! how much money are you gonna pay for fucking ME?
I got "asked to leave" and ran down some of there bushes and cut it very close to an Avenger they had sitting in the lot. I'd like to throw that A-arm through there front window.

Anyone know where I can get parts cheaper than that? there's one other stealth in this county, and it doesn't have the same suspension.

I hate people who think they know more than you

Just about every member & moderator here on AF thinks they know more than everyone else, so you gotta be hating this place pretty bad!!!

But seriously, the Chevy dealers are the same way. Your car is either too rare, too complex, too hot to keep in stock, or whatever. It amazes me how these guys stay in business

Infiniti is GREAT at ripping people off. I've gotten to the point now that I call around asking for the Nissan parts because everyone wants to charge extra for "Infiniti" when all that name means is "it's not fancy it'sa Nissan in the inside"...

I feel your pain. Best of luck finding parts!

Make sure you check www.carparts.com - they are quite often cheaper. Of course the 3si site might have someone who is parting out a car that you can get parts from cheap.

Other then that, you do have a car that parts are expensive to replace.

Yeah, Carparts was the first place i checked- they didn't have even remotely close to what I needed...I checked out 3SI and found an All DSM junkyard in Brooklyn Indiana, which is about an hour from here. Got the parts yesterday, now I need to find CV joints...mine are literally ripped in two.

Since car dealerships have exactly what you need in stock, they always try to screw us of our money, and half the time they put the parts on wrong or they make it so the car's not driveable. Dealerships have what you want, but since they do they rack up the prices, cause they're crooks.
