need help matching the front lights
on my 95 gxe, when i turn the headlights on, my clearance lights match my headlights. i've re-wired the signals so that they come on when the headlights come on as well. but the signal and the marker is dim. i want to match my signals and markers along with the headlights and my clearance. how do i do this?

the clearance bulbs are dual filament..so all u need to do is switch them around...and then the brighter filament should glow. yeah it mite be bright for other drivers...irritating eyes but...for u it's so much better...especially when u have streets with no street lights...u can see on the side of u
Directions from How2-Maximadriver.com Tools needed: WD40, Soldering iron, phillips & flat head screwdriver, a pen (preferably with red ink), Soldering wire 1. Start by removing removing the cornering light. It's easy, just be patient. Using the phillips, remove the screws holding the top portion of the light to the car. Now, grasp the light with your hands and wiggle the lense FORWARD, toward the front of the car. POP out, the edge of the light that is attached to the fender of the car. The fender had a little flap that holds in the plastic part of the lense. It is vital for you to pop the side out first. Once that is done, from the top of the car, looking down, you'll see this small ball-n-socket joint where the lense is attached to the car. Spray some WD40 onto that socket, and wait a few moments for the oil to seep in. Now, using the flat headed screw driver, wiggle the head of the screwdriver inbetween the metal hook that's attached to the lense, and the socket joint that's attached to the car. (just wiggle it a bit until you're in. becareful not to chunk off any plastic of the lense or the car!!) Now Twist 1/4 to 1/2 a turn and the lense should pop out. 2. Now that you have the lense out, unplug the connection from the car to the lense. 3. remove the bulb from the lense, and set it aside. be sure you don't step on it. 4. You'll notice that the harness for the bulb has two connection points for the dual filament light bulb. with the red marker, MARK ONE of these connections. That connection will either be connected or not connected to the wiring. We want to find the UNCONNECTED one! 5. With the flat head screw driver, carefully pop the spring-loaded connector piece OUT of the socket. You might wanna push up the wires from underneath. Push up until the black piece is completely out of the socket. 6. Observe: which connection has a wire on the back of it? Is it the one with the red dot or not? You'll want to remove the wire by putting the soldering iron on it, until the connection has melted and the wire is free. 7. Now, solder the wire to the other connection. (use the red dot convention to help you figure out which one you'll need to solder it to!) 8. Put enough soldering wire to make a solid connection. Carefully pull the black piece back into the socket, making sure the spring is still there. 9. Put the bulb back in and replut the car to the lense. DON'T push the lense back in yet! just reconnect the wiring. Turn on the lights.. the corners should run much brighter!! Push the lense back in. and you're set! 10. Repeat on other side! |
