I'm trying to enhance my sound quality in my max by installing new speakers and an amp. Where is the best location for a 200 watt amp though? Will it fit under the front seats or should it just be placed in the trunk? suggestions...

Do you think that there would be a heat problem under the seats?

Im just a lil curious are u gonna run a sub of a 200w amp? if you are thinking about doing that you should think about gettin a high wattage amp maybe 600w at least.. the amp will never push out the max 200w so you will be cut down to about 70w x 2 depending on how many ohms, it could actually go lower.. if anything you should use that amp to juss amplify your interiors.. just my 2 cents..

I'm actually going to use the amp to power just the speakers. I bought some infinity kappa's to put in. Components in the front and 2-ways in the back. the sub isn't in the plan quite yet.

It depends on what kinda amp it is for me to say its safe under the seat. If i t was me i would not even think bout putting an amp under the seat. Best place for amps is always the trunk. Don;t try to be fancy with amps just mout it to anything in the trunk even to the box of the subs or if u r using fiberglass its different. What i like to do in Maximas is mount it to the left or right side of the trunks with the karpet in the trunks and if its a black or silver amp it will look good. Just mouth it and poke a hole to the left or right and run the wire behind the panels very easy mouting and running wires max 30 min maybe. Good Luck
