Dyno'd it again today

Well the drags were cancelled so I had some money burning a whole in my pocket so I went back to Croydon for another go on the dyno. I waited for a while but they got tied up with some Datsun 200sx, so I went out and got my car dynoed at a place I won't mention.

Anyway they had this MDX Dyno and were talking it up so I thought I may as well give it a go due to the burning sensation from my pocket.

WHOLLY @#$%$#!!!!!!!!!! They ramped the thing up so slowly the power run took about 3 minutes!!! You should have heard my poor baby getting the ring revved out of her!!!!!! Would have been over 7000 revs for over a minute!!!!!!!!!!

Croydons power run was just like accelerating in third but todays little effort was like climbing Everest in 5th!!!! The poor baby spat some blue smoke at the end of it and idled like a rotary for about 30 seconds. AND THEN HE SAID, "WELL LETS TRY THAT AGAIN". I nicely asked him to step the @#$# away from my car.

I think I'll be returning to Croydon in future as todays little effort probably took 10000 k's off my engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah forgot that bit. 101kw but I have compared it to the Croydon one and it is exactly the same curve but about 5 Kw higher. Make your own deductions but I might be back at Croydon tommorrow to confirm.

$70 but you have to just turn up and wait for the dyno to become available.

Today I went to Bob Wynn in Seven Hills who has a Dyno Dynamics dyno. Did a run 86Kw. Guy operating it says "where's your tacho?" I says, "It's got a rev limiter just tag that" He gives me strange look

I'll be going back to this place in future. It's not far from my home (cheaper to tow home), they were easy on the car and were INTERESTED in it. I don't mind paying if I get customer service.

Power curve was identical to the Croydon one but kept going Where the Croydon one made 91.8 (143kph) todays one made 82. So on the day at Croydon it probably would have made 96 to 97.

I went around to MAZSPORT and saw AJC's car getting worked on (probably for the turbo titles)

Anyway that was todays little adventure

So how much at Bob Wynn then? why would you need to tow your car home??

oh, why is there such a difference in kw readouts, is it just different types of dyno??

yeah, AJC will be running his car on the weekend at Heathcote, I'm sure it will be karted down soon. He's getting 380kw at the wheels from the beast.

$70 as well but were in a negotiation process re: development and future dyno usage.

No too dynos have the same setup. I'm not really interested in the number, just consistant readings

Asked Mazsport for a dyno reading and they suggested I go some where else

oh ok.....

yeah, croydon can be lacking in customer service skills

Like I didn't have to wait a long time for my gold studs on my rims

well atleast it sounds like this place you went to is alright. How often are you going to dyno your car then?

Mazsport deal with mostly Rx7's. perhaps they are too busy...I don't know.

LOL

so every time you find another bolt to take out of the car to reduce the weight, you will be chucking it on the dyno

perhaps you should get a brown wig, start talking like every 2nd word that comes out of your mouth is "sick...fully sick"
