87 Accord Brake Pedal Problem
Back in February when I bought the car, I noticed a problem with the brake pedal in how it performed.. I found I had to pump it a few times to "engage" in making a comfy/appropriate stop. Brake fluid is fine and had the pads and stuff checked which are fine. However, this pedal pressure remains a problem and just recently a new type of theme has occurred ... I'm hearing an airy hissing sound each time I put my foot on the pedal as well as I'm having to apply a lot of foot pressure to get the car to stop ... it's getting a bit scarey. This airy hiss sound continues until I remove my foot from the pedal ... also, I am finding I have to put the car into neutral at stops since the car has started to shake while holding my foot on the brake ... related? I don't know. Any ideas what I'm looking at having to replace, repair or fix ... I need to deal with this as soon as possible. Thanks for your anticipated response(s). Robin

THanks, I just had the master cylinder and the brake vacuum booster replaced with used parts today. Hopefully, this will last. I debated on buying a rebuilt, but went to the junkyard & they took it off another one.
