The new workshop, sort of
I moved into a new house in October, and eventually I will have the 900 sq-ft basement finished and it will be mostly workshop (With a bathroom
 ). But for now, I am modeling out of the spare bedroom. As you can see, this solution wasn't very good:  The tables offer lots of room, but take up a lot of floor space, and there is one on the opposite wall which makes it very clausterphobic. I won't even be working off these, as I have a drafting table that I will be doing the actual building. After browing Lowe's and Home Depot for a bit, I found these shelves:  The original plan was to have three of those white drawers sit under there for extra storage, but it's a hair too narrow between the wall and the heating vent for that. I think I may now put another set of shelves on the other side of the window and buy a 4th drawer for there. I would like the symmetry of the second set of shelves, and also the storage (This is about 2/3 of all my models, not including my 14 R/C cars and trucks which will probably have to go into the basement finished or not). Plus I have enough room to move the top shelf up a bit, so I can have one long one spanning the whole room for my extra large kits). I hope to clean up the rest of the workshop this weekend and finally get settled.

That's all I got done tonight. I will clear out the rest over the next few days and sort of tools out of their multiple boxes. Not sure when I will put up shelves on the other side: It was a little pricey (Almost $30 for the rails and each shelf & hangers is about $10) but worth it, so probably fairly soon.
I am having trouble taking shots of rooms and things with my camera, like I can't zoom out far enough. That's actually outside the door, 12 or 14 feet away, and I can't get the floor and ceiling in the same shot. My camera is a Sony DSC P73 if anybody has any suggestions (Besides 'RTFM'..... LOL).

I have that same chair...In fact, I think that's the one I use at my desk. Looking good, and better than before.

Thanks.
The chair and table set is this one from Studio RTA: http://www.studiorta.com/images/1l/4...imo-pack-m.jpg I wanted a drafting chair for my old workshop because the bench was so high, but the cheapest ones were about $130 from the office stores. AC Moore has that whole setup for about $200, and I had a 40% off coupon, so I got it all for just over $100. Not the greatest chair in the world if you are a big guy, but it works OK.
