replacing the parts is not that hard, but repairing the broken ones is basically impossible. all you can do is play with it until its either up or down, then leave that way until you want to spend money on a new motor which is about $200. if it still tries to move the antenna, but nothing happens, just cut the power wire running to it and all will be well. as long as the wire that is hooked up to the radio is still attached, it will still function as an antenna.

I was afraid of this happening in my car, so I wired a switch inline so the antenna doesnt go up and down when the radio goes on and off. just a idea for when you get it working again.

the OEM ones from the dealer are about $200. if you feel confident with one that costs $50 then go for it. when i bought one for my accord for about $40 it lasted about a week then the same thing happened. this is why i suggested just cutting the power wire after you get it into the position you want.

Motorized Antennas require lubrication.
A couple of times a year I clean mine with good old WD40 and then put a little white greese on it. the antenna motor works smoothly with the antenna lubbed up and the thing should last forever. It has never skipped a tooth yet, I hope the reason for it is my maintainance and not luck. :-) Regards, Spotovi
