Question K&N and trouble starting?

I have a friend who put a K&N into his 1999 maxima, and then had trouble starting his car after a while, and the dealer said it was the filter. I recently bought a K&N and now a month and a half later im having the same problem. Is thier anybody else with this problem, and how did you correct it?

Are you talking about a K&N cone filter or a K&N panel filter? I've got a K&N panel filter and I haven't run into a problem yet.

Hey how do those filters work with the Maximas. I just bought one for my new 2001 Max. I used to have one for my truck and I thought it worked well. It actually did a little for my truck's performance, as long as I kept it clean.

i'm no expert when it comes to intakes, but is this just a k&n filter or is it the full intake system with the cone, check the mass air sensor. i know on my chevy 1500 we took off the intake while racing and the mass air sensor would give us problem starting up so give that a look.
