a long day and story of putting my bec-techs on.

whats up folks, got my bec-techs on finally, the regular height adjustable ones. but today went horrible it took me and my friend all day. so many things went wrong
1. i did the rear shocks without a hitch bymyself before my friend came over cause i didn't need the spring compressor.
2.the car fell off the jacks while i was doing the front, and was sitting on my front brake rotors and header downpipe. took two floor jacks, the jack from my moms minivan, and two jackstands to get it back off the ground. we worked our way from the back up to the front, cause you sure as hell can't fit a jack under a car thats an inch off the ground, obtw it broke my stock jack and my friends stock prelude jack when it fell.
3. forgot to put the bolt that bolts the shock to the lower control arm on the front before i let the car down, and drove it down the street and didn't realize it till i got home to raise the car up. turns out it tore up my cv boot and now ive gotta get a new one tomorrow.
4. first try of lowering the front it was hella low, like tucked about an inch under the fender with my 16's.
5. i forgot to put that metal washer at the top of the upper mount on and the spring decompressed and pulled through to the rubber in the upper mount while it was on the car after i drove it down the street.
6. stripped one of the nuts on the three bolts that hold the shock to the strut tower. had to cut it off with a dremel, now i gotta get a new one from the honda dealer.
other than that everything went normal, my car used to be bouncy with my stock shocks, but now with the new shocks, and an inch lower it rides just as smooth as stock, not bouncy at all. ive gotta go tomorrow and get a new cv boot put on, and get an alignment. so thats my story of my day installing my bec-techs. i will take some pictures tomorrow when i borrow my friends digital camera.

sounds like you need a course in basic shop skills...

like, never use scissor jacks, or any jack without jackstands.

and remember to use all hardware that was removed
