I didn't really want to race because there was a Fire Chief vehicle in front of us (not sure if they radio in stuff to the cops). We stopped & waited for these kids to cross the street... by that time he was long gone.

I looked over at my friend to see if he was gonna go for it... without flinching he guns it. I wasn't really in the mood so I didn't punch it too hard. I still took him off the line!!! He caught up in 2nd, but I kept ahead by 1/2 to 1 car length the whole time.

At the end, he tried to be cool & do a little tire smoking... he lost control of his vehicle and almost slammed into a parked car People at the laundry mat were staring it was SOOO funny.

Supposedly the Ford OHV V8 5.0 produces around 200 HP... which makes me wonder what I have under my hood. It looks stock, but since the car was obtained without knowing the former owner I'm wondering if they had the thing tuned at D1, with a Centerforce clutch...

I can't remember how much they way, I've heard they weigh like 2600lbs. As for turning heads, that's an understatement. I had groups of people gather around my D wherever I went, it's cool the first couple times, but it quickly becomes a real PITA. BTW, Deloreans are chick magnets, open the doors and they're all over you.

The plate on the door says 3180, but I've read 2700 on most Web sites... I wanna dyno & weigh the car one day because I'm tired of never knowing what is fact!

true, he did take me off the line, BUT, I have 3.08 gears, and I weigh 4287 pounds. I am producing 235 horse and 240 torque, I go from 60-120 in about 4-5 seconds. So if we did a quarter or a mile, I woulds simply laughed. But one things for sure though, I got to give it up to the Delorian, he -did- kill me :bandit:

I have no idea what my gears are, since there is so litte REAL documentation on the mechs.

Lets put your engine in a CRX! That'll cut down on the weight problem

4200 pounds?! damn thats as heavy as a freakin S 500!!! what year is that stang? and i would expect the dmc12 to weight more since its stainless steel. the car seems to weight less then my S14.
