Unhappy I'm car sick

I’m totally car sick! I miss my baby. It was supposed to take a week and now we’re into the 4th I just saw a glimpse of a car that went by that looked like it could have been mine and it was all shiny and painted, but I guess not as I haven’t had a call to go and pick it up.

And this to any of you that tells me to stop moaning :finger4:

What did I say! Some people just don't listen! :finger4:

and I hardly think there is going to be time to chip the paint considering the show is a week away.

STOP MOANING :finger:

Naw, they are probably not even working on it. They are probably just sitting on there duffs, or maybe they finished already and are just hot rodding around in your car.

I say, get on the phone and harass them. At least once a day, call and ask "how much longer?" and / or what they have done recently. Most shops I know, (around here at least) are pretty slow. But hassling them seems to work to some extent

I’ve tried that and everytime when I ask how much longer, I get “I don’t know” or even better, “next week” to which next week comes around and it’s not done. It's really beginning to #*@^ me off!

I feel your pain, FTO. I wrecked my Integra on June 2nd, 2000. I didn't get it back until August 9th, 2000. I will give you NO shit, and just reassure you that in the case of losing your car, your baby, absence does make the heart grow fonder. It will be that much nicer to drive once you get it back

2 months! That sucks!! Must have drove you crazy.

I’m sure that absence does make the heart grow fonder. I have totally forgotten what it was like to drive (let alone what it actually looks like). It doesn’t help that I only had the car for 4 weeks before it went in to be fixed. It’s been in the shop for as long as I drove it.

Good paint takes time. Are you sure they are reputable, though??? Maybe they're taking parts off your car & selling them on eBay?

If you wanted a cheap job, then $199 Earl Schibe... it takes one day (but the eyesore lasts for years).

You bet your ass it sucked. And you wanna know what drove me crazy?? Having to drive everywhere in my '85 Marquis. Sure, the car is in decent shape (read: rusty as hell), but the fucker is downright scary on highways - likes to drift a lane or two when some swift wind kicks up. And it was built in the tradition of the large, bouncy American sedan of old that handles like a boat. Just that sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, especially when the wreck is your own damn fault (I had no one to blame but me). I survived, and you will too - remember, this builds character :sun:

That's why we went with this guy - he's damn good. Problem is that he's so good that a rich famous tosser is getting his truck prepared for Autosalon at the same place, and keeps wanting more shit done. Bastard.

I know what you mean. The loan car that they have given me doesn’t like to go above 80 km/hr which makes motorway driving a pain in the ass. The whole car shakes and feels like it’s going to fall apart.

As for them being reputable. He’s the best colour matcher in New Zealand hence why I chose to go to him. The problem is that he’s so damn good that he’s always busy and this being the reason my car isn’t back.
