painting ?s

-Can I use automotive paint in my hobby airbrush? I'm gonna re-do the grille on my (real) truck, and I don't wanna use those crappy automotive spray cans cause I absolutly hate them and am 500X better with my airbrush.
-Is there any kind of enamel or acrylic you can buy in bulk for cheap? I go through tons of the standard red, black and blue.
-What mixture enamel/thinner do you guys use for airbrushing
-What grit sandpaper do you guys use after your final coat of primer before the paint goes on? I always went with 1000, but maybe 1500 will be better?

I always use auto. rattle cans for airbrushing. I spray the rattle can into the airbrush bottle. It's premixed and can be warmed up if set in a dish of hot water. Goes on 500x better than the cans cause you can control the amount with the abrush.

How much liquid would actually be in a 500ml spray can?
Best thing to do for automotive paint is to go to an auto parts store like UAP/NAPA and get them to premix you some and use that. You just get the paint code of ANY paint you want and they'll mix it up for you, then you have a supply of it for a while

Personal preference, really, I use 1500 but some use 1000, others 800, some 600, etc.

Also you can use whatever type of paint you want in your airbrush as long as its thinned properly.
