Seems strange
Did you give the can a real good shake first? Try giving it a light rub with some cutting compound to see if that highlights the metallic in the paint

Wishmaster,
If you are going to do any type of metallic paint job on a body you should almost always apply a light coverage of silver base coat to bring out the pear or metallic paint job. The blue metallic from Tamiya is not as metallic as the bottom because the paint pigments settle to the bottom since they are the most dense flakes in the paint mixture. When you decide to use the bottle ( bottle paints only!) run it in very hot water to allow the contents to be easily mixed. Spraying a a base coat of silver works with any type of paint. I use this method all the time when using automotive paints because most metallic paints, except for some silvers are semi-translucent, even the pearl colors. Try to match primer coats to final coats too-most of you already know this. Hope this helps and good luck. -Walter |
