everyone read, advice wanted

Okay, first let me say this. I've always been told "there's no such thing as a stupid question." I'm sure I'm gonna prove this wrong so keep reading, entertainment at least.
Ok, my car has the1.5 DPFI setup. It's S L O W ! ! I plan on doing a SQ stereo setup in the car and making it look nice basically but I also want it to be decently quick though. So, other than the MPFI swap, is it worth doing anything else? And, on the MPFI swap, what is needed? Obviously the FI setup, transistor box? ECU? I don't know.
Secondly, has everyone who's done it had success with painting the black bumpers, mirrors, door handles, and molding? I'm looking for advice on what to look out for. Good and bad. Let's see what the experts have to say.......

Can't help you with any DPFI-MPFI swap info, but you should ask FourthGenHatch about the bumpers, etc. He painted his white, and they look really good! Check out his site at: www.FourthGenHatch.com

I may not be too much help.....but I have a 91 SI and that means I have painted bumpers, mirrors and handles But I got rid of my stock handles for rear 4 dr ones so they wernt painted....and I painted my whole car....and I did all the body work and prep on it so it turned out really good....I went to WAL-MART and bought some black primer since my car is black.....and I somewhat sanded it and primered it then sanded the primer with 320 grit sandpaper and took it into the paint shop.....it turned out awesome.

Actually the si doesnt come with painted door handles.

When you go to paint your bumpers, use sand paper (nothing to heavy though) and sand the hell outta them first, the more the better off you are. There is also some primer stuff you can use on them but i forget what its called it helps the paint bond to the bumpers better.

It's called like Flexibility and Adhesion Promoter, the Advance/Auto Zone stores sell the paint that goes with it but they don't sell the actual adhesion promoter stuff. You should be able to order it online somewhere. Basically just sand them down and clean them up really good, then put on some primer or the Adhesion Promoter stuff. Sand that down with really light sand paper. And then spray on the paint.

i couldn't believe the difference between a Dx and a Si. you might want to consider picking up a d16a6 (Si engine), tranny, and ecu if you are looking for a little more....but not looking to really get "racing" HP.

you can find info on the MPFI conversion in this month's Sport COmpact (june 2002). i hope it has some helpful info for ya.

as for paint, i have heard Dupli makes a rattle can paint color line that matches import stock colors. i know it sounds ghetto....but whatevers. it's a suggestion (lol)

maybe in the US they dont but here in Canada they do.....cause my door handles were painted....they were nice and glossy....I swapped them for rear 4dr handles so those wernt painted....you could tell
