What are the symptoms? Did it run and then die all of a sudden? Will it turn over but not start or just not turn over at all? Is the fuel pump soming on when you p-ut the key in the on position? You should hear the pump whir or rattle a little in the tank when you put turn the key on. How was it running before it died? Narrow it down for me and I might be able to help.

bronco II

it quit running because it had bad gas i think i bought it from a high school auto shop. they cleaned out the tank and put new filters on it but it would not start so i checked the fuel pump and it was bad so i replaced it and then i replaced the high pressure pump and the regulator and i also put new injectors in it and it still won't start it will turn over but it wont run unless you spray starter fluid in it but it wont stay running. it has good compression and good fuel pressure

Have you checked to see if the injectors are actually getting an electrical signal? Just hook up a test light to one of the plugs to the injectors and then crank it to see if they are. If not then they're not getting the signal from the computer to open. That's the first thing that comes to mind. Check that out and let me know. Since it fires with starter fluid, that means that there is spark, but it's still not getting fuel.

I haven't had a little bronco and I usually stick to carburetion to avoid just the problem you're having, so what part of the computer or which solenoid or module controls the injector pulse? Is that the "mod" you're talking about, the ignition module? That would sound like a good place to start if the injectors are open constantly. Are all of them open constantly or is there maybe a short in the harness to the injectors that is sending all the juice to just one or two? Just trying to throw some ideas out there. I would definitely take a close look at the wiring from the computer or ignition module real carefully to make sure that it's in good condition and not shorting anywhere. Good luck and keep posting where you are on fixing it. Later.....
