Hello All!

Hello all, my name is Eric. I have been a member of Automotiveforums.com for about a year I would say. I found this site looking for some Graphic Manipulation information. I found, and now have ventured around this site and found the Modeling forum.

A little background on myself. I am 16 years old, a junior in high school. I live in Ohio and just moved here last Christmas. I am working full time for the summer and Kings Island right now, currently seeking new employment. I live with my parents and have a wonderful girlfriend named, Alaina. I am a Christian and try to go to church every weekend. I live with my twp married parents and have a 12 year old sister. I drive a 2005 Chevy Colorado Xtreme. I am paying for it all. I working full time for it to pay for it now and while I am in school. I know that most here are car fanatics, well... I am in that category as well. The family weekend car is a 2004 Cadillac Escalade and my father owns a mint 1992 Chevy Camaro RS. Grew up on cars you could say.

I grew up putting together models. Nothing even close to show quality but I loved it. Eventually, the burn kind of ran out. However, last week, I walked into my local hobby shop and found a 2002 Chevy Camaro SS and decided to put it together. That project is about 45% done, with all painting done. The racing stripes are haunting me now. Most of the models here are so detailed I wish I had half the talent. I will be putting most of the tutorials to use. I know that there are very helpful people around here that can aid me. I had never really tried to super detail a model. I guess it comes with time and teaching. I would like to make something halfway decent however. My passion for modeling is back as strong as it ever has been.

Anyhow, I walked in my new Hobby Lobby that Grand Opening was today. Walked in, filled out an application. I figure may as well look throughout the store. They have plastic models for 50% off. No way that I could pass this up. I walked out of there with. All for $29. I plan on going back tomorrow and checking on what they have then. Any comments on these kits would be great.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this. I hope in getting in touch with most of you around here. I am available through AIM at AEGuy3 or through the forums and PM's. Thank you all again. I am looking forward to learning more from all of you.Have a good night.

-Eric

Re: Hello All!

i've heard of both of them, though i usually only listen to Switchfoot if i'm in the mood. i heard that you are supposed to say Relient K like Rel(as in RELish)-ee(as in fEEt)-int(as in INTerior) K. dunno but now i say it that way.

Re: Hello All!

Yeah, welcome Ebay474. My only worry is you may end up losing your 1:1 car because trust me..... thisd hobby cna drain your finances quicker than a woman!!!

Seriously, have fun & don't be afraid to ask for help. And don't worry about how good some of the models are on here. My own aren't that great, it's all about enjoyinng the build. The skills will follow.

Thank you all for such the warm welcome. Nice 02' Camaro, looks very clean. I am a Chevy guy, so I have grown up on Chevys. I'll never loose my black baby, the cost can rack up. But hey, it's cheaper than Gas R/C . Thank you all agian.

P.S. It is about decal racing stripe time on the 02' SS. I am searching the forum now. But still a haunting task. Any help would be great.

Welcome! Its nice to see some other kids are actually out there working for their cars. I bought mine (see avatar) brand new a couple months before I turned 16 for straight cash on the money I earned myself. Keep up the good work.
