bad clutch
ok i have 82000 miles on my civic dx ... this morn i could still spin the tires in 2nd gear no problem and i was drivin to college when all of a sudden i shifted to 3rd gear and i heard a crunch proceded by no more clutch ... WTF happend ... arent clutches supposta go down gradualy not instantly and at 80000 miles ... i have owned standard for 5 years so i know how to drive it ... what do you think happend ... how could i have a strong clutch one min then the next have no clutch at all ???

how sure are you its the clutch?
It sounds like you broke an axle, or the diff. Spinning the tyres in 2nd will do that.

well the shop i brought it to said he thought it was the cltuch and that he was gonna take it apart later to make sure ... he never called me back so i would guess that it is the clutch ... oh well ...
