Bad Clutch?
I got an 85 Celica GTS, with 190k miles on the motor.... I've only had it for about 1 month and a half... Long story short, I think my clutch is fucked.... here are the symptoms.
-For it to BUDGE in first or reverse you gotta kick it up to about 5k RPMS -When you put it in gear and let off the clutch, at a stop, the car DOESN'T stall/die -Obviously, the car has NO pickup at ALL Im guessing rather 1 of 2 things happened or both.... 1. The pressure plate seized up, so the clutch is actually always engaged 2. I wore out my clutch, and its just metal on metal to get the car going a little bit.... The car shifts fine (tho theres no point) and the tranny seems to be in fine condition. And there is plenty of pressure in the clutch pedal itself... So, if anyone has any idea on what is wrong/how to fix it, please help a fellow Celica owner out

You more than likely need a new clutch.
