Smile Finally got the UT Calibra...

As a huge Opel Calibra fan I have been looking for the UT Models kit of the 1995 spec Opel Calibra V6 DTM... I already have 3 of the Tamiya 1994 spec kit (The white/yellow Tamiya kit raced in 1994 and the black one raced in 1995 but it was a 1994 spec car).

And now finally I didn't get just one, but 2 of them, both versions, the standard Team Rosberg version and the "Bye bye Keke"-version. The only difference on these cars are the decals, just like in reality, actually it was the same car, just with a different livery in Keke Rosberg's last professional race.

They were imported from Netherlands by a diecast shop here in Finland and a friend of mine who collects diecasts got these for me from there!

The paint schemes are quite complicated on these and I wonder how to get the pearl effect white to the model... which is used in the real cars (and even in the Minichamps 1:43 diecast models of these cars, which I of course have also...)

Re: Finally got the UT Calibra...

I have made this kit. Very good quality for an "unknow" compagny. You will love them.

I have these too and they look nicely detailed. Instructions seem odd but the decals look nice. Be interested to know what you use for the pearly paint...

Use the Tamiya TS-45 Pearl White over a white base coat.
White primer works as the base coat, just make sure whatever you use creates a uniform base coat.
One can will do the whole car.
You should also clear coat the pearl white when you get the desired coverage, it does not touch up well and the clear will give you some protection... - Mark
