trouble with Carbon Fiber hood
I just picked up my carbon fiber the other day. I was excited as Hell cause Iwaited for like three weeks for that damb thing to come. When i installed it i didn't even fit perfectly. One end was high than the other. Should I return it or is it normal. My friend who works at a performance shop said that those hoods never fit perfectly. He said he would fix it for me to make it fit. What should I do?

I have no knowledge of carbon fiber hoods and fitting, but my guess is that you need hood pins. I guess that's why everyone else has them.

honda's and aftermarket body parts never fit right, but on the hood, there should be rubber stoppers that can turn to raise and lower a part of the hood, if not you can try shimming up the low side so at least its even, but chances are you will be hard to find a perfect replacment.

I agree with crxlvr. You should try moving the rubber stoppers up and down to see if that helps. You might want to make sure the hood isn't warped either. If it is I would send it back in exchange for another.

It's tough to find a CF hood that fits right. I guess what happens is it gets messed up when they pull it out of the mold. Like Legacyciv said, his had a similar problem. Maybe they'll swap it out for you, but chances are they'll all have some sort of flaw.

i had the same problem with my cf hood. i had to get hood pins to make it stick down. u have to get them anyways for safety so u might as well get some hood pins to hold it down right.

And what kind of CF hood is it? But I agree, its not just HONDA body panels but alot if not ALL companies, its hard to reproduce the exact fit because its not like the companies actually release the panel molds for aftermarket companies to use... so they have to go with what they got... but so long as it does go flying off, enjoy
