People with sr20det motors

How do you pass smog with a sr20det? Do you just remove the turbo when you go in for inspection? I'm new and am looking to purchase a 240sx and do a sr20det engine swap. Can anybody help me out. Thanks a lot.

I'm not really sure since your out there in California and the laws are more strict out there, but here in Virginia when this one guy that I know went in to get his car inspected, he replaced the catalytic converter with a new one, replaced the spark plugs, and he ran the car lean (when you have a greater proportion of air). With this he passed emissions fine, but like I said before, our testing isn't as rough as yours is out there.
