you may want to elaborate on weird - is it like a humming, or is it clanking, etc.?

Could be a wheel bearing....I replaced the rear brakes on an old Mazda once, and I overtightened the hub castle nut, and smoked the bearing withinin 5 miles...I don't know the exact torque number but my experience has taught me to tighten the castle nut, then back it off a notch or two (1/8 to 1/4 turn or so) before you stick the cotter pin thru it.
Bearings are a pain to get pressed in and out, so check the nut before you drive it anymore. HTH
