Fix My Lights!

major problem people! i need your opinion. While working on the rear lights for my ITR, i had a slip up and put too much paint on them, so i said no prob, i'll just work around it. blah blah blah, few hours later.. realized that it looked like crap. Now i want to start over again, so here is my question to you. What is the best way to clean off paint from these plastic parts without damaging or hazing the plastic? I've tried paint thinner before on other clear parts as such, and now my tamiya S2000 doesn't have the clear lenses over the rearlights anymore! meaning thinner cracks the part!!! so any sugestions?! oh and by the way if this makes any difference, i used testors enamel to screw up my lights.

castrol super clean works well, pick some up at yourl local walmart, it won't damage clear parts

"409" also works and is less toxic than oven cleaner. just put some 409 in an empty paint bottle and put the clear parts in it. It may take 24 hours, but it will take the paint off. Use a toothbrush to remove the paint too.

Most oven cleaners will do the trick.
I use MR MUSCLE....dont know if you get that over your way

Guys, just a short question, will Castrol superclean be able to remove lacquer paint a couple of months old?

I've used it to remove Tamiya synthetic lacquers that were plenty old, but I have had little luck using CSC to remove some Gunze Sangyo spray paint, which is also lacquer, IIRC. Some of it is coming off, but not all...

Bigger problem guys! despite all your tips on using over cleaner, 409, etc. i couldn't get off my lazy ass and go buy some. Therefore decided to use thinner. I figured that if i was light on the lenses, that it would only "fog" up, but not crack.!!!! .....anyhow now i'm left couple bits if cracked plastic, which i'm really pissed about! does anyone out there have a set of clear lenses, or even painted fujimi honda integra lights they would like to donate?!?!?!? I don't care as long as they are still intact! Thanks!

cast your lens in clear resin(and whit this technique you could do real altezza taillight or anything else)

In clear resin? what kind of look will that give? well resin is a clear plastic isn't it? or some type of plastic? is it difficult to work with, and i've also heard it's expensive...can someone please give me the lowdown on resin. As sad as that may sound.
