First HLJ order!

And I sure as hell didn't go cheap on it. Here's what I ordered:

Aoshima Top Secret R34 Skyline GT-R
Fujimi Toyota AE86 Trueno Early Type 1983
Fujimi Tuning Parts
Fujimi BBS RS Wheel
Fujimi Volk Racing TE37Mag 18-inch Tire/Wheel set
Fujimi Racing Heart 17inch
Fujimi BBS RG346
Museum Collection 1/20-1/24 Carbon Decal

Total off 7800 yen, which I forgot what it was in US dollars. But, who cares, I got new models!

Re: First HLJ order!

I think it was low 70's/hi 60's. Anyways, about how long will it take to come to Texas? A week and a half?

Re: First HLJ order!

If it's going to be sent by SAL, from my experience, it will take 5 to 12 days to US. But that's after you receive a shipping notice, and sometimes HLJ takes more than a week to process an order, so be patient.

(Having too many kits to work already, I always use surface mail and wait for 6 weeks, (not from HLJ though), but the shipping cost is a half of SAL.)

In my experience with HLJ shipping to me here in the UK, if I request SAL I tend to get hit with custom charges. So I always use the cheap (surface?) option, try and be patient waiting for my order, and avoid those costs!

Damn those customs types

Re: First HLJ order!

I didn't go with SAL, and i was just wondering how long they normally take. I have plenty of models to keep me busy till they arrive.

Re: First HLJ order!

I recently got my first order from HLJ as well. After they sent the shipping notice, it took 21 days to get to the Canadian praries.

Re: First HLJ order!

Okay, I guess I can expect about the same. Anyways, I saw the DeTomaso Pantera resin kit (http://www.hlj.com/product/FUJ18891)...$221.03 in US dollars. I never thought I would seem a 1/24th kit that cost more than 50.

I never thought I would see a Fujimi model cost that much...they must be smoking something to sell it at that price. Mabye someone else made it for them...like Studio 27?

Something other than SAL? EMS mabye? Wow, you did spend alot. If you used EMS, you should get it real fast, 3-5 days after they say it's been shipped. That's how long it takes to get stuff from them here in Florida with EMS.

Re: First HLJ order!

Yea, I went with EMS. Now I just have to find a shop in the area that sells microsol and microset. Are there any other chems/clears that I should get for the CF decals?

The Fujimi Pantera kit is a resin kit, probably like their Garaiya kits and the Mitsuoka Orochi Prototype, which is why it's so expensive.

Every EMS package I've received from Japan to Texas arrives in 4 days.

Where is your area? Austin, King's Hobby is the best place to go. Houston, it's Hobby Island. Can't comment on other Texas cities as I'm not familiar with them.

Re: First HLJ order!

I'm up in Lewisville near Dallas, my best bet is probably Hobby Town USA, I should probably call and ask.

Nice buy

My first time with HLJ was very interesting. Several parts came broken but thanks to their customer service all the parts were replaced without even paying for shipping! All free HLJ is nice

Re: First HLJ order!

I checked my order status last night, about 24 hours after recieving the conformation notice. Most of the items are now either backorderd or low in stock. Is this because of my order, or where they already like this before my order three days ago?
