Question Help needed...

Hi,

I have a GMC Sierra 1992 and I would like to:

1) put DRL (Daytime Running Light) system,

2) make the head light to flash like the cops cars.

My truck has a Single sealed beam headlight system.

Thanx in advance for your posting.

The DRL's you can get them from your local dealership. They should be able to install them on your truck and you get a discount on your insurance.

As for the alternating light pattern things a.k.a. the cop lights. Those are illegal for you to use, but attainable. Just know that if a cop sees them on your truck, you're in a heep(no pun intended) of trouble.

You can go here and look for them. Autotoys

Thanx for your reply... First, I don't live in the USA...

I just want to drive my truck with my lights on... I import most of all the accessories for my truck from the states, that's why I want to know where to buy the DRL system kit. And as for the a.k.a. "cops lights" it's just for off road and for shows.

Regards,

Some of the PD's and FD's get magazines that have items that make your lights like the cops do. As in the previous message these are illegal on non-emergency vehicles. You may obtain them and if you hook them up, I recommend that you do this on a temp basis. If you are caught you could have your vehicle impounded.

Re: Help needed...

As far as a DRL system, check the aftermarket parts stores. A universal DRL system is available from Blue Streak Standard. The "cops lights" are also available from Grote.

The blinking lights you refer to are called "wig wags" and they can be made to make your headlights/brakelights wig wag, your blinker lights on all four coners wig wag or both. Probably the best place I found for these is at a place called Gall's. Visit www.galls.com and search for "wig wags". Hope this helps.

Hi guys,

I found this great website: http://strobeguy.safeshopper.com and I need to buy the Headlight / Taillight Flashers.

These flashers all feature different flash patterns and different applications:

Flash 1: The FLASH-1 does a standard back and forth wig-wag type pattern at a rate of 1.9 flashes per second.

Flash 2: The FLASH-2 Does 3 flashes per side simultaniously before going back and forth in a wig-wag type pattern, it then repeats both these patterns every 4 cycles.

Flash 3: The FLASH-3 does a standard back and forth wig-wag type pattern at a rate of 3 flashes per second.

Installation instructions for Flash 1, 2,& 3: http://www.strobe.com/pdfs/flash-install.pdf
