gathering parts needed for transmission swap, help needed

I know theres posting of this in the FAQ and other places in forums, I'm just hoping I have everything down correctly. I've compiled this list of the things I need.

List of needed tranny swap items for 3000GT SL 1991:
- 5-Speed Transmission
- Flywheel
- Clutch kit
- Shifter (direct replacement)
- Shifter cables
- Clutch Pedal
- Clutch Master Cylinder
- Fluid Line
- Slave Cylinder
- Driver and Passenger Side Axles (for driver side only the inner axle)
- Starter (manual)

Any thing else I should get?
Also, what is ment by direct replacement?
Going to junkyards soon to aquire parts.


I'm going to take a weekend off and do the converison over 2 days sometime near the end of the month, I'm hoping. I don't really know how to do this but I'm going to try my best and hopefully won't have to bail to a transmission shop halfway through. I don't have any instruction/instructor. If anyone is willing to keep in touch, private messages or e-mail or phone, while I do this that would be great.

Good luck! If you have good success, it'll make me want to do this swap even more. After you do it, would you mind posting how much each part was and the availability of it (where you got it)? I'd appreciate that a lot if I do it. Hope it goes well!

Make sure you read the 2 posts under that list in hte FAQ, as I think they added something, like the shifter linkage or something.
You could PM Stealthee, he mentioned having done a tranny swap on an eclipse...so he would have knowledge of it. Also check 3si.org, there are probably threads there that give instructions on the swap.

I'll be definatily logging the process of what I do, probably make a detailed guide or something since I have a camera. Then I'll sell it ahahaha, JK about the selling.
