Question Anyone done this kit?

Hi All!

I've just come across this Honda S800 rally on my web LHS for about $20 and I really like the look of it.

http://img63.echo.cx/my.php?image=ho...ytamiya6wz.png

Has anyone done it/know it? Is it curbside/engine? Is the price about right or can I find it on ebay sometimes for $3? etc.

thanks

It's a good quality kit for an older Tamiya release. full engine detail with a few tight fits here and there but the finished product looks good. I definitely prefer this model over the stock S800 Tamiya released. I'll try to post some pics later.

Re: Anyone done this kit?

I built that kit years ago and it got lost in a move somewhere. I recall it was a nice kit to build with, as alakai stated, some tight fits here or there but nothing major.
Tamiya did a 1/10 scale R/C car of this model S800 which had an outstanding lexan body on it.

Just out of interest, this isn't a rally car, it was a circuit racer.

Re: Anyone done this kit?

I`m also consider buying this kit. But i`m going to make it as a street car with wheels from Tamiya Mazda Eunos.
Klutz maybe it`ll help: http://www.1999.co.jp/asp/GoodsDetai...ce_right_e.asp

Re: Anyone done this kit?

Tamiya has both a stock and race version of this kit. The difference is limited to the decals and the wheels and I think that's it. It's full detail, with a motor and the body fits down onto the seperate chassis which is a neat touch (it assembles like the real thing). I built the stock version of this car and thought it was a blast. It's a fair price, it's still on the market and there's reasonable demand, so you won't find it for $3 but you won't find it for $40 either (if you do, don't get it!). If you like it, get it!

Re: Anyone done this kit?

Thanks guys - I think I'm going to get it then while it's available (oh God! another one!)

INsejn - thanks for the link, that tipped it for me. The roof is kind of funny shape in a nice way. Now I've got to start looking for some reference materials.
