Looking at an R33 need advice....

Looking at a 93 GTS25t, wine red, 5 speed manual, 63000kms (not sure but looks good), GT-R front, standard minus the front and a turbo timer.
$20,000, but it really is in good nick.
What is the point of getting the chassis details and serial numbers? I have noticed people doing it before to cheack something out and I want to know what they check?

Any help would be great.

Chassis VIN and engine numbers are used to check whether a vehicle is encumbered ( any money owing) or stolen. This is important if U R buying the vehicle privately. Dealers provide warranty and clear title.

Its a pain but check out the car anyway.... Good luck dude!:flash:

that r33 was in the paper on saturday, that one has been for sale for a long time unless someone has bought it and it is for sale again, i had a look at it mid last year it was on the eastern shore, does it have a mesh grill, standard wheels, double din stereo and no alarm?, if u decide to buy it i'll have to have another look at it and u can have a look at my car.

yeah that's the one, the people that have it now wanted it for racing, they have 2 R32's that they race at simmons plains but the rules ruled out the r33 after they bought it, so they have to sell it. They have the 2 R32 GTSt's and he has a WRX STI and she has some sort of Audi.
They seem like nice people but are based in Launnie.

It looks good from the front, don't like the spec one rear spoiler but I figure I could live with it.
Needs: Alarm/Immobiliser/Keyless Entry, Exhaust, BOV (Which she will give me and install for free), new steering wheel (which she will give me and install for free). It has a turbo timer which is always good.

I thought $20000 was a fairly decent price, maybe a grand or 2 too high, but I'd be happy.

I've also seen ad's in HPI that check the VIN/Chassis number in Japan to see if the car was stolen over there. But as said before if you ar ebuying from a dealer then you don't really need to check. If private then definitely contact REVS to get a check....

it would be a good idea to think about getting a skyline through geoff as u could almost get a stock standard spec2 for that price or a good spec1 with bodykit, big wheels, exhaust etc and it is a few grand over priced when u look a prices interstate and through people like geoff especially for an early spec1 like the one u r looking at.

Geoff @ Prestige Motorsport?
If so then I'd recommend him too. I bought my car through him and got a great deal...

It may be a grand or two more than what you would pay on the mainland, but no more and if you consider the cost of me going over, picking out a car, getting it back over, it is not really worth while.

As for importing, of course I could get it much cheaper, but at the end of the day, I want to see what I am buying first and not have all the hassels that people seem to with waiting and customs costs etc.

If I get finance tomorrow, I will buy it because I am happy with it
