Are these worth it? What would I source one off of for a y1 tranny (jdm cable tranny)? I'm figuring maybe LS? Thanks.

If you decide to lighten the flywheel you have to make sure that you don't lighten it too much. honda's do not have a harmonic balancer, so they use the flywheel to balance the engine. if you lighten it too much it will cause the motor to be unbalanced. Not a good thing.

a lightweight flywheel increases ur throttle response and will be slightly harder on ur clutch if u drive up hills a lot. But in the long run will probably be easier on the clutch and transmission syncros. This is wut i mean by throttle response: http://openloopmotorsports.com/revving.mpg That is a light weight billet aluminum flywheel on a 88 accord.

Actually, I think it's the other way around. It'd be safer to buy a lightened one where you know that the R&D went into that final product to make sure it is perfectly balanced and doesn't have any weak spots. Where as if you have yours shaved, I doubt it will come out perfectly balanced and strong.
