:bandit: Does any one out there have a lightened fly wheel..I am really considering ruining my life spending an arm and a leg on a perf. fly wheel...I have a gas r/c car and I put a perf. flywheel and let me tell you that thing was faster than my g20...So if you have one, did you feel a big difference, what is the cheapest route to take? what brand do you recomend? Is it worth it to deplete my student loan? :alien2:

The cheapest route is probably to get the stock flywheel lightened. I'm not exactly sure how much weight can be taken off safely. It is definitely worth depleting your student loans. College is overrated. j/k

better throttle response and quiker reving, not to mention a couple pounds off the flywheel reduces rotating mass which can equal a couple hundred pounds of weight reduction in first gear (although it diminishes each subsequent gear)
cons....you loose revs faster in between shifts and some people seem to have a hard time on hills. also...i dont know about you nissan/infinity guys but lightening the stock flywheel usually weakens it and is not recommended (on hondas at least) fidanzia makes good one that fairly cheap for hondas but im not sure about g20's? |

Fidanza makes a very nice one. I'll be picking it up for my car. It's better and a lil cheaper than the JUN. |

I drove a G20 with the Jun Light flywheel about a week ago. It wasn't as sever as I thought it would be. I found it pretty easy to drive and was quite civil. |

I have a lightened stock unit, it's down to 13.xx lbs. Stock is 18-19lbs. (21.04 shipped, including box and padding). It made a noticeable difference acceleration wise, and it did make the car a lot "peppier". I'd recommend it to anyone doing a clutch swap. I went for the stock flywheel, instead of an aftermarket one do to cost. The ACT clutch was already like $300, the tranny fluid another 50 or so, for good stuff, so i didn't really feel like forking out another $400 or so, whatever it was at the time (before the fidanza blowout) for a lightened flywheel too. I think i paid $125, including shipping to and from California.

I am actually in the process of getting a flywheel out of a 91 G20 ligtened and resurfaced to throw in my B13 and am also throwing a B15clutc in it as well....But I've heard they can take off roughly 4-5 lbs. off a stock flywheel and still be in a safe zone...I got the flywheel from a local boneyard for $26 bucks.....But I'll let you guys know how that turns out when i get it back...
