Help getting ready to buy a Spec V in 2 weeks but have some questions
Well in 2 weeks i will have enough money finally to buy a Spec V but i dont know if the price i am getting is good:
Its $18335 before taxes, title and all that and it has the ABS, side airbag package but it also has this dealer installed paint package which adds $600 to the price. They have 3 of them in the lot with the same exact package in Blackout, Vibrant Red and Blue. I think i will go for the Blackout one but i dont know if this price is good or not? Am i getting a good deal? The dealer was really helpfull and said they could get one with the exact options i wanted from another dealer but the only thing i dont like is that paint package that it has? Is it really worth $600? I could use that to get an aftermarket sound system which i am already planning to get. Should i get the dealer to get me one without that package? Thanks in advance for the help |

It sounds as though the dealer clear coated the car. This isn't a bad thing, but have they mentioned anything about a warranty for the paint. Usually when a dealer clear coats a vehicle you will get a 7 year warranty, against ANYTHING. Meaning even if you don't wash it. Clear coat is great because it removes the affect of orange peel, (ripples in the paint) If you ask them to show you a car that hasn't had a clear coat you should be able to see what i am reffering to. I don't think dealers usually clear coat before a car is sold, i am suprised they did. They may reffer to this process of clear coat as perma plate or even carbon bonding but don't let the jive fool you.

I am in texas, theres a couple of dealers around here that have a couple, they arent selling like hotcakes like other places. I am in Temple but i have been to dealers in Waco, Austin and Dallas and they all have 1 or 2 Spec Vs. So if you dont mind coming to Texas to get one i think you should find one.

I live in FL and i got a black Spec V with the audio package, sunroof, side impact airbags, and a 4 year warranty...all for $19,500. I think that i got a good deal considering the packages and warranty that i got!
