Citroën Saxo (2 times) - 1/43 Racing43

A while ago a friend of mine asked me to build these 2 kits for him, and so I started building.

Subjects are the Citroën Saxo nr 51 (San Remo 2002) :

And the Citroën Saxo nr 65 (Catalunya 2002) :

Now, these pics were downloaded from the Racing43 website, because the models on my workbench look like this :

Next I mounted the decals on the red Saxo :

Here I mounted the decals on the yellow Saxo :

And this is how the situation looks a few days later :

Here the red Saxo is nearing completion, the yellow one is getting a little behind

In the meantime I finished the red Saxo's interior, and I put a "AA battery" next to it to show the real dimensions, and I took a few pics.

Next I attached the body to the chassis and I started completing the exterior. What is still missing? A few fasteners, aerials, towing hooks, and at the bottom a protection plate and an exhaust. It'll be finished tomorrow, and then I will complete the yellow Saxo...

To be continued...

How about the fit of the parts/windows?

The metal parts fit pretty well, but the window is, when you cut it as it should be following the cutting line, too small. I'll make sure not to make the same mistake when completing the yellow Saxo!

In my experience, painting panel lines in 1/43 is a little to heavy. Besides, the models are not mine, but for a friend who doesn't want me to paint them...

Fantastic Saxos! Yours looks better than the R43 buildup. Nice idea to include the battery and ruler to give us an idea of how tiny the models are!

Great photos and models. What method do you use to paint the window moldings? Very clean.

The "small brush and steady hand" method. Nothing fancy. Just paint it by hand.
