Unhappy Will these corner bulbs fit my Civic???

I have a 96 Civic Coupe and want to buy super whites for the front turn signal/parking lights. My stock bulb is a Stanley 3496. Does ne1 know if the 1157 will work also?? the 3496 has a push and turn base like the 1157, but the shape of the bulb is not balloned out like the 1157, it is merely straight out and then rounded at the top sort of like the 7440/7443 wedge bulbs' shape. so i want to know if these 'balloon like' bulbs will fit through the opening in the corner light b/c i have not seen one site or dealer advertise that they have the 3496 bulb is super white, any brand for that matter. Ne i try this or have thoughts, opinions, suggestions??....thanks for the help.

they would fit in the hole, but you may eventually melt something on the lense or the wiring, cuz on my bro's cavalier, the wrong bulb was put into the turn signal and the lense got all melted and bubbled out.

Also with the 1157 bulbs, they have 2 locking tabs off-set at the base of the bulb, make sure they fit in your big wedge bulb hole. a 2057 has the 2 locking tabs at equal lenght from the bottom of the base, you may need to use that type of bulb.
